Update

So my friend Amy has inspired me to FINALLY put up an update on my blog. We have been so busy that I haven't had a minute to sit and think.

Great grandma LuLu is in from MA and Sadie is loving every moment of it. I think she really loves the 100% devotion! LuLu doesn't have to stop and do laundry or dishes or cook....like Mommy, and Sadie doesn't quite understand why Mommy has to do those things! Today is actually LuLu's 83rd birthday and we are all going out to dinner tonight to celebrate.

I applied and was accepted to Liberty University's Masters of Science in Nursing Program! I will be pursuing the Nurse Educator Track. I came home from work a few nights ago and Tom surprised me with a brand new awesome laptop! (actually typing on it now.....no pictures on this blog because I need to download all the photos to it....) I start end of August.

I am now working part-time at the hospital and recently accepted a job as a Clinical Instructor for nursing students at a college here in Savannah! It is two days a week, from 0630-1630, and I start in July and end in September. I am VERY excited about this endeavor!!!

Lots more exciting things coming our way this summer...so stay tuned! Papa and Bapshi are coming down in July and we are all staying in a beach home together.....my godson JC turns ONE and we will party with the lil man in July.......my best friend Alison is getting married in August and we will be in CT for that.....Grandma Kern is planning a visit soon......etc etc etc

My thyroid is basically dead. Meaning I have no metabolism and no energy and no matter what I did...the weight wasn't budging. I had an appointment with my Endocrinologist and I have started taking Synthroid. He didn't want to start me on it, hoping that this "postpartum hypothyroidism" would correct itself. Alas, too much time has passed and it is no longer being considered "postpartum", rather just plain ole hypothyroidism and he said it was time to start the medication. Without it....my body would slowly kill itself ! Hypothyroidism can cause infertility and miscarriages. Tom and I want to be able to have more children so it is very important to be on top of this. Synthroid is very safe to continue during pregnancy but you just have to increase the dose.

Tom and I joined the Y and we have a trainer named John. So far Tom is doing EXCELLENT! He has lost over 10 pounds in three weeks and all of his lab levels were normal from his MD visit and he improved his A1C!!! GO TOM!!!! (for those who dont know...he is a type one diabetic....childhood)
I on the otherhand, have lost only six pounds so far, but feel fantastic. I am fitting into some scrubs that used to be tooooo tight! Now that I have started Synthroid, the weight should be coming off with all of my efforts. Can't wait!

That's the update! Stay tuned for Sadie pictures......:-)
